Dear Church Family,
I’m privileged and delighted to offer the ministry of Spiritual Direction here at St. Paul the Apostle. Spiritual Direction gives you the opportunity to explore the movement of God in your everyday life. During our time together, guided by the Holy Spirit, we will reflect on the depth of God’s love, become aware of God’s presence, embark on a journey of self-discovery, and make space for the Sacred.
Take a few minutes to learn a little more about how Spiritual Direction might benefit you. If you have questions or if you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact me.
Peace to you, Ellen Simon.
What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual Direction is an ancient ministry rooted in our Catholic faith. Spiritual Direction can help you recognize how the Holy Spirit is working and drawing you closer into relationship with God and with others. It will help you learn how to live in peace and with compassion, promoting justice as a humble servant of God.
Would I Benefit from Spiritual Direction?
- Have a desire to understand and grow in God’s love?
- Want to integrate the Spirit into your daily life?
- Hear a call to justice and sense a call to serve others?
- Want to develop a greater awareness of how to live out God’s plan for you?
- Want to deepen your trust in the voice of Spirit and your own experiences of God?
If so, Spiritual Direction can help you find your way.
What Happens in a Spiritual Direction Session?
We’ll start with quiet and prayer, then move to deep sharing about how God is active in all aspects of your daily life—your family life, work, goals, struggles and your joys. Through Spiritual Direction, you’ll become more conscious of your living relationship with God.
Through our holy friendship, we’ll increase awareness of God’s movement in your daily life, come to know and understand more fully God’s love for you and God’s desire to be in deep relationship with you. You will grow to recognize the Holy Spirit’s leading and reflect on the daily experiences of God.
How Do I Get Started?
Contact me at email@example.com or 294-4696 ext. 215 to schedule an appointment. Typically, we’ll meet once a month for 50-60 minutes. This confidential relationship lasts as long as it is nourishing for you, and we’ll do a periodic review to make sure we’re on track.
Is There a Fee?
The suggested offering is $50 for each session. My goal is to make this service accessible to everyone who seeks it, and other arrangements can be made if this amount would be a financial burden.
