The 50th Anniversary of St. Paul the Apostle

Our 50th Anniversary celebrations began with a memorable Mass on Thursday evening, January 25, celebrated by Fr. Joe with beautiful music provided by our wonderful choir. A true highlight was when Fr. Joe announced that a first class relic of St. Paul had been given to the parish by an anonymous parishioner. It now resides permanently in a place of honor behind the altar. How fitting that our celebration began on the Feast of the Conversion of Paul.

Our celebration continued with a delicious dinner in Fellowship Hall, purchased by the parish from Elizabeth’s on Lawndale and served by our Knights of Columbus, who also served as Liturgical Ministers at Mass. Close to 300 people attended, including 24 original members. Founding members Rocky Riccio, Pat Ferry. Jim Reittinger and Susan Cole shared with us memories of those early days.  To see an article about our event in the Catholic News & Herald, CLICK HERE.

On February 17th we had our Day of Service where we partnered with Rise Against Hunger to pack 25,000 meals for those in need around the world.  Thank you to the over 100 volunteers who showed up and made a big difference.

Photos to be Displayed

We have a number of photos commemorating events at St. Paul the Apostle from 1974-2004. Picture boards will be displayed in the library throughout the year. If you have photos from parish events from 2004-2023 that you would be willing to have displayed, please place them in the designated basket at the Welcome Center with your contact info on the back, so that we can return them to you at the end of the year. Digital pictures may be sent to amarmion@stpaulcc.org.

FOUNDING MEMBERS

We would like to honor our founding members at each Anniversary event and learn from them about the early days of our parish community. Letters and a few questions were sent to those who registered in 1973-1975. If you were an original member and did not receive a letter, please call the parish office.

Mark your calendar for our Parish Picnic on Sunday, June 2nd.
